Officers from the Málaga National Police have broken up a Colombian drugs gang based in Benalmádena which employed a team of drug mules to deliver cocaine to their Costa del Sol base. The leader is a middle-aged Colombian woman who ran a local shop selling Colombian foodstuffs, which she used as a cover for her criminal activities. Eight people have been arrested, including the woman’s boyfriend, her father, brothers and daughters. The gang bought the cocaine in Madrid, then transported it for cutting to a laboratory in Guadalajara, which has now been located by the police. Nine kilos of cocaine have been recovered in total and eight people have been taken into custody.
