Ryanair now threatens to stop passengers who have not printed their passes at home from boarding

Ryanair now threatens to stop passengers who have not printed their passes at home from boarding: "Ryanair has responded to the ruling from a court in Barcelona which considered its policy of charging 40 € for passengers who have failed to print out their PDF file of their boarding pass, by threatening not to allow such passengers on board the flight.

The Barcelona court considered the policy of the Irish airline as abusive, and now Ryanair has responded that it is considering ‘no longer printing boarding passes in the airports where it operates’, which means in effect that if you arrive at the airport without your boarding pass, you will not be able to fly.

The airline has been in a process of reducing the number of check in desks at airports, saying passengers must print their own boarding cards at home before travel to avoid a 40 € surcharge.

Meanwhile a statement has said that the airline has placed the Barcelona court decision in the hands of its Spanish lawyers so that they can launch an appeal against the decision the airline describes as ‘bizarre and illegal’. It said it would continue to charge the 40 € while the appeal proceeded."

7 in every 10 Spaniards say they are tired

7 in every 10 Spaniards say they are tired: "Seven out of every ten Spaniards are tired, a new survey has shown, and would like an extra hour in the day to spend on leisure.
More than half said they would spend that extra hour on physical exercise, but 39% said exercise would be the first activity to go when they are tired.

The survey, by Pfizer-Espana, questioned women and men between the ages of 25 and 65, and found that the main cause of accumulated tiredness and a lack of energy was the stress of work. While more women than men said they feel ‘very tired’, it is also women who say they have more energy in being able to combine work with their home life.

Eighty percent of the men who were questioned said they would love to be able to find a balance between work, leisure and exercise.

In the opinions of those who took part in the survey, the Austrians have managed to find the best balance between their work and their family life. Europa Press notes that the Spanish come second from the bottom, while the Portuguese find combining the two the most difficult."

Junta de Andalucía has come out with a surprise statement declaring that only the illegal properties which have been built in flood zones

Junta de Andalucía says only illegal properties on flood plains or in areas with special environmental protection will be demolished: "The Junta de Andalucía has come out with a surprise statement declaring that only the illegal properties which have been built in flood zones or in areas with special environment protection will continue to be so and will therefore be demolished.

La Voz de Almería reports that the Delegate for Public Works and housing is to communicate the new posture in a new meeting with the Town Halls in the Almanzora valley in Almería, to continue to work for the regularisation of their homes.

It comes as a judge in Almería has ruled that the Junta de Andalucía has no right to cut water and electricity supplies to rural properties which are outside the planning laws.

Jesús Rivera, in Contentious/administrative court 3 in Almería has rejected an appeal from the Council for Public Works of the Junta against an occupation licence granted by Albox Town Hall, which allowed the property owners to connect to water and electricity. The property is on non-buildable land, and has been there for more than six years, with the judge therefore considering that any lack of planning legality to now be out of date.

The case has no judicial precedent and could now see thousands of other such properties across the region making their claim to be connected to services."
