13 people have been arrested by National Police in Málaga for fraud, in connection with a premium rate esoteric phone line operation. Police say the accused tried to keep callers on the phone for as long as possible.Most of those arrested are women, and are accused of telling the callers that the longer they stayed on the line, the higher the chance that the esoteric rituals being carried out on their behalf would be successful. Police say some of the victims, who were mostly elderly, left their phones connected to the line overnight, leading to astronomic bills.
